Wonder Wools are collectible items that appear in Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World. There are five Wonder Wools in each level, all in a variety of different colors; there are 275 Wonder Wools total in the game. Wonder Wools are Yoshis that have been transformed by Kamek; the Yoshis are made up. Sep 01, 2016 Yoshi's Wooly World was first announced (though unnamed at the time) during the January 23 Nintendo Direct broadcast. Supervised by legendary Nintendo developer Takashi Tezuka (who directed both Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story). Yoshi's Wooly Land is being developed by the team behind Kirby's Epic Yarn.

Knitting yarn, patchwork, and other handicraft materials combine into a whimsical and crafty backdrop for our knit Yoshi to explore. Instead of eggs, this time Yoshi tosses yarn balls that he can use to clear blocked paths, tangle-up enemies, or even knit together platforms and warp pipes. Yoshi can also tug at stray yarn to unravel walls and reveal hard-to-reach areas filled with hidden collectibles. Tackle challenges in local 2-Player co-op by partnering up with a friend. Gobble 'em up and spit 'em out to reach new heights or take out craftwork creepers like paratroopas, piranha plants and shy guys! It's time to get crafty.
